Selmer Series 9 professional clarinet overhauled with Valintino master pads

An amazing deal on a top quality, professional, French made clarinet! Selmer Paris has always been one of the leaders in professional grade clarinets. This is a prime example of why many professional players like Benny Goodman, and Anthony Gigilotti (along with the rest of the Philadelphia Orchestra clarinet section under Eugene Ormandy) chose clarinets of this or similar model over the popular Buffet R-13. This Series 9 is from 1967 and is very similar in all respects to the famous "centered tone" model that precedes it. It features a wider bore than the Buffet R-13 series of instruments that makes projecting a piece of cake. Yes, this clarinet is perfect for jazz and pit work. That fact does not mean it doesn't do quite well in classical work. Quite the opposite. It retains a French core to its sound, but has the flexibility to go darker, approaching a Germanic sound if one is so inclined.
This particular clarinet has matching serial numbers, and has never cracked. The wood is beautiful and of a quality that would be hard to match in a modern clarinet. The inside of the bore is so very smooth, and blows away current Buffet r-13s. While this clarinet has the typical cosmetic wear one would expect from a well loved instrument of this vintage to include very light chipping and scratching of body and key work, it looks very nice. The keys are un-plated "German silver" so no need to worry about plating wear. A full overhaul was performed to include cleaning down to the last screw. Key fitting was performed as needed along with spring replacement as needed. All corks and adjustment materials were replaced and padded with premium Valintino master pads, except two pads where beveled cork pads were used to fine tune intonation on throat Bb and throat G. The synthetic 'master' pads are a professional grade pad that promotes superior sealing and long life that can stand up to the rigors of professional playing.
Included is a used Selmer Paris HS** mouthpiece which may be orogonal to the instrument. A Lyuben ligature and plastic cap finish off the mouthpiece setup. We will also provide a brand new Pro-Tec case to protect the clarinet better.
